 TCIC's Industry Role

The Construction Institute of Canada’s role in this enormous and rapidly growing sector is to promote excellence. Toward that end, our priorities include:
  • Establish the highest possible global standards for construction industry practitioners
  • Help industry managers attain these high standards through education and professional development
  • Ensure high levels of professionalism and ethical conduct are maintained through membership governance, and
  • Enhance public quality standards recognition, particularly among prospective domestic buyers of construction
Like its counterparts in other countries, The Construction Institute of Canada targets the advancement of professional excellence in a variety of ways, namely:
  • Accreditation based on a combination of work experience, conduct, service and accredited industry specific educational courses that meet the highest possible global standards
  • Continuing professional development to keep industry practitioners current on issues related to new legislation, sustainability, safety, contract law and structured contract changes
  • Honor those who conform to TCIC’s ethical codes and rules of professional conduct and enhance public awareness respecting the overwhelming need for strict industry professional standards
